By History and Nature
For thousands of years, Armenian vinetenders have fastidiously cultivated the ancient Areni Noir grape in the highlands terroir of Vayots Dzor. To make wines in this place, from this grape, is to follow the clear path of destiny.
The variety’s thick skins and naturally low pH make for tremendous aging potential. On the palate, the wines are harmonious thanks to medium-firm tannins, generous acidity, and appealing red and black fruit notes.

A Modern Approach
While the grape variety and land are both ancient, winemaker Alex H. learned his contemporary winemaking technique at the University of California, Davis, as well as during travels in the Napa Valley and beyond.
We harvest early in the morning to capture acidity, and collect the fruit in small bins to preserve the delicate structure of the grape clusters. After initial sorting and destemming, we do an additional berry sort by hand to select the most pristine and ripe individual grapes.
Our Wines
Khachen Areni Reserve
A selection of our finest vineyard blocks, matured in a blend of new and seasoned French oak barrels. This expressive red wine is crafted for those who appreciate elegance and structure, with excellent potential to mature gracefully over a decade or more.

Khachen Areni
Our signature estate wine is aged in a combination of neutral French oak barrels and stainless-steel tanks, preserving the pure expression of Areni Noir. With balanced acidity, medium body, and refined tannins, it pairs beautifully with a wide range of dishes.

Our signature white wine is crafted as a blend of two rare indigenous grapes, Khatun Kharji and Voskehat. Aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve its bright acidity and aromatic complexity, this wine offers a fresh and elegant profile with floral, tropical, and stone fruit notes.

Khachen Rosé Wine
Crafted from Areni Noir grapes grown in rocky volcanic soils, our Rosé is fresh and vibrant, with delicate red fruit notes and a distinctive minerality. Fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks, it emphasizes brightness and purity, making it a versatile wine for many occasions.
